Artwork Details

Every piece I make is slow-crafted, mounted with care, and framed to honour the textures of thread and fabric. This page offers a closer look at the materials I use, how my work is presented, and what to expect when collecting or caring for a piece.

Materials

Each piece is created using free-motion machine embroidery, where I guide fabric by hand beneath the needle to allow the thread to move like a drawn line. I primarily work on soluble fabric made from PVA, but I also work with solid cotton, linen, or occasionally found fabrics. Sometimes a base of watercolour or painted paper is incorporated for a subtle layer of tone and texture.

  • Completed works are mounted with stainless steel (archival) pins onto Fabriano Rosapina paper or high quality watercolour paper. The mounted work is then framed in a white shadow box frame, allowing depth and space around the piece.

Each piece is glazed with Artglass AR70—a museum-quality anti-reflective glass that reduces glare and protects against UV light, ensuring the subtle textures and lines remain visible in all lighting.

When shipping internationally, alternative glazing will be necessary to avoid damage. We will discuss this privately.

Framing is finished with D-rings, ready to hang.

  • All artworks are one-of-a-kind originals and include a signed Certificate of Authenticity with title, year, and materials used.

  • Artworks are wrapped in acid-free tissue and bubble wrap before being securely boxed for delivery. Each piece is shipped with tracked and insured post, and you'll receive notification and tracking details upon dispatch.

Please allow 5–7 business days for packing and dispatch. Local collection (Ireland) is available on request.

  • To preserve your piece:

    • Keep out of direct sunlight and away from humidity.

    • Do not open the frame or touch the thread surface.

    • Artglass anti-reflective coatings can be cleaned with any ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft, clean microfibre cloth. Avoid excessive rubbing of the glass surface, which can damage the anti-reflective coating.
